Welcome to Bucharest
Bucharest, the capital of Romania, was once called “little Paris”. Its mixture of old houses, communist blocks and modern skyscrapers makes it an interesting place to visit. So, welcome to Bucharest!
The guide will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel. You will have the rest of the day free to relax or to explore on your own.

Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov
It is time to leave Bucharest behind and continue your one-week itinerary in Romania with some castles. After breakfast, you will go to Sinaia, a beautiful mountain resort next to Bucegi mountains. Here you will visit the impressive Peles Castle, the summer residence of the Romanian Royal family. Not only the opulent interiors and the external decorations will impress you, but also the natural landscape surrounding the castle.
Your next stop will be in Bran to visit the most famous castle in Romania: Bran castle. This medieval fortress gained its fame due to the vampire novel Dracula by Bram Stocker. Today it is known as Dracula’s castle. A tour inside will reveal you what is the truth about the many legends surrounding the castle.
In the afternoon you will go to Brasov, a beautiful medieval city. Explore its old town, enjoy a late lunch at one of its traditional restaurants and take a long walk next to the forest. Breathing the fresh air of the mountain will due marvels for your sleep!

Viscri fortified church and Sighisoara tour
Your tour in Romania continues today with other medieval wonders. After breakfast it is time to go to Sighisoara. On the way, stop in Viscri, a remote village that made King Charles III fall in love with Romania. Here you can visit the white fortified church, UNESCO heritage site and wander on its large streets framed by colorful houses. You can also stop for lunch in one of the villagers courtyard.
In the afternoon go to Sighisoara, a medieval fortress built on top of the hill. Its well-preserved houses, defence towers and old churches made it a UNESCO heritage site. You will spend the nigh here.

Targu Mures and Turda salt mine
Leaving Sighisoara behind, it is time to stop in another old city in Transylvania. Targu Mures has ancient churches, old buildings and modern vibes. Its medieval fortress will try to convince you that you have travel back in time. But it is enough to take a short walk on the boulevard next to the fortress to see tat this is not true. Its local coffee shops and restaurants with international cuisine will offer you a culinary experience.
In the afternoon you will arrive in Turda. Go underground to visit one of the best-known natural attractions in Transylvania: Turda salt mine. Compared often with a subterranean amusement park, the Turda salt mine has a football field, ping pong tables and even a lake for boat rides, all in a salt cave.

Corvin castle and Alba Iulia citadel
Turda is located in the heart of Transylvania. But since your one-week trip to Romania is coming to its end you will start descending back to Bucharest. But first, go and visit an amazing castle, taken out of the fairytales: the Corvin Castle. The wooden bridge, the moat around the castle and its tall towers make it a true wonder! And its history is even more impressive than its exterior!
Your second stop on this day will be in Alba Iulia. Alba Iulia, that star-shaped citadel dates back from Roman times. During a walking tour inside it you will see its Roman and Austrian influences. Aldo, you will find out why it is a very important city in the history of Romania.
In the evening, go to Sibiu, the last city hosting you in Transylvania. You will spend the night here
Sibiu and back to Bucharest
Start your last day of this trip with a walking tour in Sibiu. Its charming houses with “eyes” and medieval defence walls will steal your heart forever! Sibiu is probably the most romantic city in Romania and because of that it attracts many tourists. Plus, its large square hosts frequently important events and festivals, so you will find plenty of things to do in Sibiu!
In the afternoon it is time to come back to Bucharest. Your guide will transfer you to the airport if you have a flight back home, or you can ask for an extra night in Bucharest.
