Curtea de Arges Monastery and Sibiu
In Curtea de Arges you will be greeted by the awe-inspiring silhouette of the Curtea de Argeș Monastery, a jewel of Romanian architecture. Take a moment to wander through this sacred space that is surrounded by a dark legend.
If the 6-day tour in Romania takes place between July and October, you will go to Sibiu on Transfagarasan, voted the most beautiful road in the world.
In the other months, Transfagarasan is closed, so you will continue on Oltului Gorge.
In the afternoon, take a long walk in Sibiu, a city known for its Gothic architecture, cobbled streets, and the famous eyes of its houses that seem to follow your every move.

Day 1: Bucharest to Sibiu with Curtea de Arges Monastery

Turda salt mine
After a restful night in Sibiu, your morning begins with a scenic drive towards Turda. Here lies a hidden world below ground, the Turda Salt Mine. Prepare for the mine’s vast chambers, where the air is charged with healing properties. The descent into the mine reveals an amphitheater, an underground lake that you can navigate by boat, and even a Ferris wheel.
Cluj-Napoca
The journey continues to Cluj-Napoca, the unofficial capital of Transylvania. Spend the afternoon strolling through the bustling streets, where each corner offers a blend of Gothic, Baroque, and Renaissance architecture.

Day 3: Merry cemetery and the wooden churches of Maramures
Mocanita steam train
The train, operating on a narrow-gauge railway, trundles along at a leisurely pace, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of the Vaser Valley.
After 2 hours the train makes a stop, giving you the chance to stretch your legs and enjoy a picnic while listening to traditional music.
Once you come back, it is time to say good bye to Maramures and go to Sighisoara.

Day 4: Mocanita Steam Train
Sighisoara Citadel and Viscri village
Sighișoara is one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Europe. Discover its medieval history when guilds ruled and the cobblestone streets echoed with the footsteps of merchants. Visit the Clock Tower and the house where Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Dracula, was born.
In the afternoon, go to Viscri. Famous for its fortified church, part of UNESCO’s World Heritage, Viscri is also the village that charmed King Charles when he visited Transylvania.
In the evening, go to Brasov.

Day 5: Sighișoara and Viscri
Brașov old town and Bran Castle
In the morning enjoy a leisurely exploration of Brasov, a medieval gem. Go to the Council Square (Piața Sfatului), visit the Black Church, and stroll down the narrowest street in Romania, Strada Sforii.
In the afternoon, continue with a visit to Bran Castle. Perched on the border between Transylvania and Wallachia, this fortress is often associated with Dracula’s legend, thanks to Bram Stoker’s novel.
After discovering the myths and truths of Bran Castle, it is time to come back to Bucharest, where your trip ends.
