Unirea salt mine in Slanic Prahova is a mix between the hand of man and nature’s wonders. It is the largest salt mine in Romania and in Europe and it was transformed into a health centre for the treatment of pulmonary diseases in saline air, at 210 meters deep. It is also open for tourists that just want to see how the salt was extracted and to admire the largest chamber of the saline, which is 55 meters high. The access to the Unirea salt mine is made with minibuses since the elevator is broken.
