PRIVATE TOUR TO CONSTANTA AND THE BLACK SEA

Your day trip will start in Bucharest, where your guide will pick you up from the airport or from your hotel. After a 2,5 hours drive on the Sun highway, the nickname of this road, you will arrive in Constanta. On the way, you will pass on the Anghel Saligny bridge, across the Danube.

Once you arrive, you can start your guided tour in Constanta. Your guide will show you the old buildings in the city centre of Constanta, Roman ruins, the tourist port and the symbol of the city: the casino, on the seashore. Usually, these places are included in all Constanta tours.

Your guide will also tell you Greek legends about the city, Roman tales from an antique poet, local stories and the Constanta casino history. This way you will discover how different religions and cultures can cohabitate together, in harmony.

You will also have lunch in the city centre.

Constanta tour

Your day trip from Bucharest to the Black sea will continue in the afternoon. You will travel near Constanta, in Mamaia resort. Mamaia is probably the most popular seaside resort in Romania due to its many clubs and music festivals.

It has very few permanent inhabitants (7 declared in 2002), but is overpopulated during the summer. Mamaia is built on a coastal ridge between the Black Sea and the estuary called Siutghiol (Süt-Göl: “milky lake” in Turkish). The ridge has a length of 8 km, but a width of only 300 m. The very long and wide beach is covered with very fine sand, mineral parts, shell parts.

You can spend an hour or two on it to sunbathe and to breathe the salty air.

After this, it is time to go back to Bucharest. After the ride back, your guide will drop you off at your hotel.

Do you want to spend more time at the seaside? Try the Dobrogea and Danube Delta 4-day tour and visit also the Danube delta.

We were completely unfamiliar with Constanta and were surprised with it’s beauty and history of the area. It was a great trip. Vlad had a good knowledge of the area, it’s history
and was very accommodating to us.
